We have been invited by a global hedge fund located in Boston (MA), to exclusively search for a DevOps Support Engineer to help custom automated applications using DevOps tools on their existing proprietary trading system.

The role
As a DevOps Support Engineer you will be building custom investment and trading applications, contributing monitoring, support, problem resolution and server configuration management.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of team providing front-line production support for proprietary and third software and data to Trade Operations, Portfolio Managers, Traders and other business user teams
  • Identify, research and resolves technical problems pertinent to our applications and collaborate with the application development team or third-party vendors
  • Design, build, and code deployment automation and efficiency tools to support the software development process
  • Perform software deployments
  • Coordinate software development activities with other engineers, and managers
  • Respond to issues to support developers and end users
  • Monitor, tune, and adjust automation for maximized performance and availability
  • Acquire/build and maintains knowledge base

Qualifications

  • Container orchestration, preferably Docker
  • Experience with change control policies and procedures
  • Experience with Subversion/Git, Linux, Shell scripting, networking, SQL databases and open source software build processing
  • Foundational knowledge and troubleshooting of network issues (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
  • College degree or equivalent technical certification
  • Maintain flexibility to work evenings and occasional holidays as part of a standard work schedule
